Darren Morely is our Business Link Manager here at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ. He's spent years working with businesses and has industry knowledge from across multiple sectors. He brings a different dynamic to the team asking questions that everyday businesses may want to know. As well as hosting our podcast, Darren works daily on developing links with businesses and creating short courses that will help businesses and the wider community.

Dr Steffan Thomas

Steffan has worked in radio, television, and the music industry however it was whilst researching for his PhD in Business Management and Marketing that he became interested in the use of digital marketing to support distribution. Steffan is interested in working with SME organisations, and over recent years has supported a number of businesses to improve their digital presence in a number of sectors such as dental, veterinary, hospitality and tourism. Steffan currently teaches a range of modules including Foundations of Marketing and Digital Marketing and is supervising several PhD students within the College of Arts Humanities and Business.

Dr Georgina Smith

Georgina is a Lecturer in Marketing at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Business School. She has a particular interest in social marketing, behavioural decision-making, and the influence of emotion on behaviour. Much of her research is into the differential decision-making processes followed when people engage in health-related and pro-social behaviours such as blood donation, sunscreen use, and high-calorie snack consumption. Georgina currently teaches on a number of modules, including Brand Management, Global Brand Management, and International Marketing Communications.

Clair Doloriert - Senior Lecturer at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Business School

Dr Clair Doloriert

Dr Clair Doloriert is an Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management scholar, whose research interests span contemporary topics including employee engagement, knowledge management and autoethnography. She has won several awards for both teaching and research and became a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Teaching Fellow for her contribution to innovation in teaching in 2017 and is passionate about improving management and leadership practice through her teaching and research practice.

Nicola Kirby is the Learning Technologist for the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Business School with many years’ experience working in HEIs, developing innovative e-learning materials. Nic currently supports our distance learning MBA programmes with managing VLE content and running online invigilated examinations. She facilitates assessments at our partner institutions in Singapore and China. Nic also supports the Business School’s marketing team as well as recording and editing our podcast.

Claire is a highly experienced marketing and communications professional with over 15 years of senior experience in industry. Her current role is as Public Relations Manager with First Bus – one of the largest regional bus operators in the UK and over 12,800 employees. Her previous experience includes Frontier Public Relations where she was a Senior Consultant and Group Head of Public Relations for Marshalls. Claire's passion lies in exceeding client expectations and crafting compelling narratives that truly connect with target audiences. Prior to taking on the role at John Kelly, Lisa spent over a decade as an educator at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan. She is a graduate of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ having completed both her Masters in Education and her BSC in Psychology at the institution. Lisa is now near to completion with a DProf in Business at Aberystwyth University. Within her strategy role at John Kelly, Lisa focusses on quality, innovation and strategic change.

Ian Gwyn Hughes

The Football Association of Wales Ian Gwyn Hughes

Ian Gwyn Hughes is the Head of Public Relations for The Football Association of Wales.Ìý Originating from Colwyn Bay, Ian Gwyn Hughes was educated at Eirias High School, Colwyn Bay and Ysgol Glan Clwyd, St Asaph.Ìý He went on to study History and International Politics at Aberystwyth. In 1982, he began his broadcasting career working for CBC (Cardiff Broadcasting Company) radio. By the end of the year he started working as a presenter and commentator for the BBC Wales Sports Department, and over the next three decades worked for the BBC as football correspondent, football editor, and as a commentator on Match of the Day. He joined the FAW in 2011. He has overseen many key moments in Welsh national football, having led the FAW’s communications at UEFA EURO 2016, UEFA EURO 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He is well recognised for his endeavours to make the Welsh language a central feature of the FAW’s work and for giving the Welsh language and culture an international platform. Ian is known to be innovative in promoting football in Welsh communities across the country.

Tanya Whitebits was set up in 2012 and since has been highly successful winning several acclaimed business awards. Shoned is an experienced entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of working in the cosmetics industry. She is skilled in Coaching, Sales, Sports Development, Event Management, and Leisure Industry.ÌýShoned is also passionate about supporting entrepreneurship development and regularly engages with students at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Business School and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ to share her experiences and knowledge. Pryderi is Managing Director at M-Sparc, in North Wales. Pryderi has been providing strategic direction as Director of M-SParc since 2018. He describes himself as a ‘serial entrepreneur who’s passionate about developing the economy of North Wales’. His leadership is focused on the vision: to ensure that local communities, the economy, culture, and the environment can flourish sustainably through the creation of high-quality employment opportunities.

Pryderi has a vast network in Industry, Government and Academia and an experienced and award-winning Project Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry.

With a background in local government and extensive entrepreneurial experience since the age of 16, Pryderi is dedicated to fostering an environment where businesses and communities can thrive. He is skilled in Sustainable Development, Business Planning, Sustainability, Strategic Planning and Programme Management, and holds a Master of Science (MSc) focused in Regeneration from Liverpool John Moores University.

Outside of work, Pryderi enjoys watching Arsenal, cycling, and listening to music of all kinds. He is also a keen socialiser and runs a pizza van and a glamping business!

She has over 15 years of experience within the shopping centre and town centre industry, including a strategic leadership role as Operations Director. She is known for her abundance of energy, problem-solving techniques and professional skills, which she shares to help empower other people and enable places to grow. With roots in Anglesey, Medi has recently returned her focus to North Wales with ambitions of contributing to the positive regeneration of local cities, towns and communities. Medi has been featured on BBC Radio Cymru, BBC News, The Retail Bulletin and Business News Wales and is an active blogger.

He also plays a significant part in BIC’s sustainability initiatives, contributing to BIC Innovation's journey towards net zero. He studied his Bachelor of Business and Law and his MBA in Environmental Management at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ and is a huge supporter and advocate of both the Business School and University.
