Discussion matters: With Professor Andrew Edwards chairing, the following presentations were given: Alan Edwards, on behalf of the Student Services team, provided an overview of the International Student journey. Danielle Williams, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Equalities Officer, presented an update on the progress of the University’s Race Equality Charter application. Darren Morley introduced the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Legal Advice Clinic which opens later this month. Dr Nia Jones, on behalf of the North Wales Medical School, provided an overview of the Medical School to the group. Further updates were received from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Maritime Learning Centre, North Wales Africa Society and Mantell Gwynedd.
An update from the Community Engagement team was received, including the success at the National Eisteddfod and the Royal Welsh Show. It was noted that the final IWA event took place on 3 October in Pontio and the University will now start to plan their own events early next year. The Community Fund is expected to be launched in the coming weeks and a new regional partnership, supported by MEDR, will see Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ collaborate with Wrexham University, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and Coleg Cambria on a series of activities over the next 12 months.

An update from the Community Engagement team was received, including the success at the recent Urdd Eisteddfod in Meifod and the forthcoming plans for the National Eisteddfod and Royal Welsh Show. The team are preparing for the final IWA event which will take place on 3 October in Pontio and the Community Fund is expected to be launched early in the 2024/25 academic year.
