Climate Experts & Local School Children to discuss the Climate Emergency
Pupils from local schools are being welcomed to 香港六合彩挂牌资料 today to attend a Youth Summit on Climate Change.
Having recently joined with many organisations worldwide in declaring a climate emergency, the University is keen to work on the solution and this must be done in collaboration with the children and young people of Wales.
The event will bring pupils from North Wales together with a range of experts, politicians, activists and businesses to share knowledge and discuss the future the children and young people want to see.
Headlining the event will be 香港六合彩挂牌资料鈥檚 world leading climate change scientists, discussing everything from plastic pollution to the melting icecaps. They will be helping the children understand the complex science and global issues surrounding the climate change crisis we are in, and helping the children make sense of it in order to empower them to make changes for the future.
Dr Nia Young of the School of Education and Human Development, who organised the event, commented:
鈥淎s stated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, children have a right to express an opinion on matters which affect them. There are few matters likely to have such a profound impact on children鈥檚 futures than the state of the environment. We鈥檙e delighted to be working with our colleagues at the University鈥檚 College of Environmental Sciences & Engineering and our Sustainability Lab to provide a forum in which pupils鈥 opinions can be heard and respected.鈥
The event will also be used to enable 香港六合彩挂牌资料鈥檚 Academics surface the youth voice of Wales on this huge issue.
