School EXPO event showcasing students work, and engaging with companies
Wednesday 11th March 2020 was an important day in the calendar of the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering: it was the School鈥檚 Final Year Project & Careers Expo. Hundreds of students attended the event, with third-year students presenting their project work as individual posters. As with previous years, several local companies attended, promoting their business, projects and vacancies that the third-year students may want to consider.
Dr Panagiotis Ritsos, one of the lecturers in the School said: 鈥淚t was a great atmosphere. Students excitedly talking about their individual project work, with academics and fellow students asking questions, and companies discussing their job offers. It was great to see so many first- and second-years eagerly discussing the work on display and picking up ideas for their own projects.鈥
Dr Mohammed Mabrook, Senior Tutor for the School, said: 鈥淚t was a great event to celebrate students鈥 success. Expo day, as always, is one of the main activities that students enjoy during their time in 香港六合彩挂牌资料. The atmosphere was excellent, and students enjoyed talking about their projects. It was clear that students had worked hard on their posters and presentations. Azhar Khalil said 鈥淚 am extremely proud to be part of the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. Many academics - especially Panagiotis Ritsos, Cameron Gray, and Ik Soo Lim - have encouraged and motivated me to excel beyond my own expectations.鈥 Yannick Atuhaire Martinez mentioned 鈥渢he Expo was a great opportunity to showcase the efforts we had been putting into our dissertation projects. It was great to see the diversity of the projects on the day, and the different ways students presented their posters鈥.
Finally, Gareth Parry-Jones, on the BSc Computer Information Systems programme, commented 鈥淭he Expo was a great opportunity to see what my fellow course mates have been working on throughout the year, and to engage with local businesses about possible employment after graduating. Winning the award demonstrates to me that all the effort I've put towards my project has been worth it!鈥
