The article explores the Universal Basic Income (UBI) pilot with young care leavers in Wales and is published in the highly-ranked peer-reviewed journal, Critical Social Policy.
‘Austerity alive and well in Wales and UBI in intensive care’ is a rare focus in an international academic journal on a specifically made in Wales social policy area, namely the first universal basic income (UBI) pilot with care leavers anywhere in the world. The article discusses Welsh Government's intentions about the policy following the end of the pilot period in 2025 and offers key insights for its application.
