Compressed Gas Safety / Safe Handling of Gas Cylinders
Who should participate?
Any individual who is handling or using compressed gases. This includes moving handling and changing regulators on cylinders.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer courses to non-Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ staff.
The aim of the workshop
To provide information and guidance to those individuals who are handling and using compressed gas and gas cylinders to undertake these tasks safely.
Benefits of attending
At the end of the sesion you should be able to:
• Identify the types of gases and problems associated with them
• Understand the correct way to inspect, test and change regulators
• Undertake handling activities in the correct manner and identify the correct handling equipment required
Content
The nature and dangers of compressed gases – cylinder management, hazards and emergency procedures
Demonstration and practice safe handling techniques
The practicalities and concerns of changing regulators and checking connections- the right regulator for the right job correctly fitted inspected and tested
Duration
5 hours
Learning Methods
Delivery is through presentation, demonstration and practical activities.
Assessment / Certification
This course is assessed and certification is for satisfactory completion.
