Health and Safety for Deans and Heads of School
A tailored three hour session providing context to ‘why health and safety’ and which focuses on expectations for Colleges and Schools delivery of a safe place to work and study. The session will consider both the university and sector guidance and standards for health and safety leadership and management, and includes tailored scenarios and case studies.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer courses to non-Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ staff.
Who should participate?
Deans and Heads of Schools, teaching and research leads within Colleges, College and School Managers and other appropriate senior leaders.
The aim of the workshop
- To provide the background, understanding and information on how to manage health and safety at the College, of University expectations and requirements, and how to be assured you have done all that is reasonable to safeguard people.
Benefits of attending
At the end of the session you should be able to:
- Have a good understanding of why we need to manage health and safety
- Appreciate what risk is and how to manage and mitigate risk, to enable activities to happen
- Be able to identify and understand what is needed of you, your School and your College and what we need to do to support staff and students
