Joint Workshop: Building Resilience in Mental Health across the Lifespan
The School of Psychology, 香港六合彩挂牌资料 (North Wales, UK), in partnership with a team of Iranian experts in Mental Health, is holding an international workshop for participants from the UK and Iran.
The workshop will be held in Dubai, UAE, on 25th to 27th April 2017.
The event seeks to bring together early career researchers from the UK and Iran to hold an academic discussion on Mental Health with subthemes of: Cognitive neuroscience methods in mental health research; Child mental health treatment and prevention; Adult mental health treatment and prevention; Behaviour, motivation, and prevention of mental health issues.
The objective of the workshop is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge in both directions and to build links for future collaboration. The specialist sessions will focus on providing theory underlying aspects of mental health treatment, prevention, and intervention. There will also be sessions on the process of conducting research, identifying and applying for research grants, training on academic networking and capacity building for international research-based collaboration.
The organising committee is inviting applications for participation from interested scholars based at higher education and research institutions in the UK and Iran. Applicants should submit their application package to iranukworkshop@bangor.ac.uk by 25 March 2017.
The application package must include: 1) an expression of interest outlining your research interests/expertise including any current or future international collaborator/s and your future research career plan (maximum 500 words); 2) your up-to-date CV; and 3) a letter from the head of your department (or current supervisor) and future research supervisor indicating your academic title and date of PhD award. This letter should also explain how the topic of the workshop is relevant to your current and future research and should demonstrate the departmental support for your involvement in the workshop. Applicants must ensure that they meet the following eligibility criteria:
1. Hold an academic (research or teaching) position an academic/research institution in the UK or Iran.
2. Be an early career academic (PhD awarded no earlier than September 2010). Postdoctoral researchers and final-year PhD students may also apply.
3. Be proficient in English to Level 6.5 in IELTS (certificate not required).
4. Have good knowledge of research methods and a strong background in research activities.
5. Be interested in mental health and related areas (a history of research in mental health area is preferred).
The final selection will be made by a panel comprising members of the organising committee and senior academics from the UK and Iran. Short-listed candidates might be asked for an interview by the selection committee. Selected applicants are expected to be notified by 3 April 2017. Female applicants and scholars known to have a disability are strongly encouraged to apply.
Costs: Flight tickets to the UAE (economy class), breakfast and lunch, and accommodation costs will be covered for all participants.
