Dr Lowri Ann Rees is one of the co-founders of the Institute for the Study of Welsh Estates. A Senior Lecturer in Modern History at the School of History, Law and Social Sciences, her teaching focuses on nineteenth century British history. Her research interests centre on eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Wales, in particular the landed elite and their country estates. She has published on paternalism and rural protest, the Rebecca Riots, the land agent, new wealth and social mobility, and Welsh sojourners in India.听She plays an active role within the Institute, chairing the ISWE Forum, and supervising several PhD projects.
