Tell us a bit about your experience at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ…. 

I thoroughly enjoyed studying at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ, much more than I could have imagined, and I look back at that time with such fond memories. I loved all my modules, and my lecturers were all so engaging. I made many good friends there and embraced the social life as well, of course. It opened my eyes to different cultures and perspectives and helped shape me into the person I am today. 

Why did you choose to study at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ? 

A family friend’s son had gone to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ and enjoyed it, and they suggested trying to get in through clearing when I didn’t get the grades I needed to get into Scotland.  This turned out to be a blessing in disguise.  If I could live my time again, I wouldn’t change doing my egress in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ. 

How has your career developed since graduating from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ, and what is your current job role? 

Since graduating, my career has predominantly been in education. I followed this path initially because I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do, but I subsequently discovered a passion for teaching. Here is some of the roles I've had since graduating:

• Britische Gastlektorin at the Johannes Kepler Universität, Linz 

• PGCE in German with French 

• Classroom teacher in a school in Wallasey 

• Deputy Head of Languages Department in Connah’s Quay 

• Current job role: Head of Languages Department in Conwy and PGCE Subject Studies Lead for MFL, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ 

In what way did studying at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ enhance your employability? 

My year abroad really impacted me, and to this day, I still feel it was the best year of my life. I grew as a person in so many ways, but developing the skills to work and communicate with a range of different people and cultures has definitely contributed to my employability.  The skills you possess from a language degree are transferrable into many different professions; you can do anything you want. 

What advice would you give to students studying at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ?  

Meet your deadlines, do your reading, and enjoy the social aspect! 

In one sentence, what was your favourite thing about studying at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ?  

This is a hard question to answer.  My favourite thing about studying at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ was the friends I made and our lectures with Carol, Owen, and ‘The Prof’.
