Why Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ? 

I chose to study at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ because it was one of the very few universities in the UK with offer a specialisation in Neuropsychology in the third year which I'm interested in. 

When I arrived at the Open Day, I immediately felt at home; all the students and lecturers were helpful and welcoming. 

As an avid adventurer, the beautiful scenery surrounding Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ also played a key role in my choice to study here. You can climb a mountain in the morning, and watch a sunset on the many beaches in the evening. It's the perfect backdrop.   

The course...

The best thing about my course was the brain and mind practical in first year, where I got the opportunity to hold a real human brain. It was a surreal experience! One I definitely wouldn't have experienced if I wasn't at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ university. It really tied into the anatomical aspects of the module and helped give me a deep understanding of the course content.

Clubs and Societies...

I continued my passion for rowing by joining Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Boat Club during my first year. The early morning training sessions were made worthwhile being able to watch the sunrise on the lake in the middle of Snowdonia National Park!  

I also volunteered as a walk and talk volunteer to combat social isolation. During my time volunteering, I met students from all different cultures and it lovely to share our life experiences whilst visiting some Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ beauty hotspots such as Roman Camp and the harbour. I even received comprehensive counselling training which has improved my employability prospects following graduation. 

One of the best things about Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ, is that all the clubs and societies are free to join so you have the opportunity to experience things you wouldn't have ever thought of before.

What do you like about Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ? 

I love the close-knit community feel of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ. The Student Union in particular have such a strong presence in the town, and its lovely to be able to chat to the sabbatical officers who represent us in the streets. As everything is in walking distance, you also save a lot of money on taxis after nights out!
