Overview
Vladyslav Kulikov is a Ph.D. student at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ. The studentship was devised by Professor Rhiannon Tudor Edwards, co-director at CHEME, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ, and Huw Thomas, Finance Director at Hywel Dda University Health Board in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February of 2022. Hywel Dda UHB sponsors the research, while Prof Edwards supervises Vladyslav jointly with Professor Deborah Fitzsimmons at Swansea University. His project is focused on public engagement as a tool of co-production.

Vladyslav is supervised by Professor Rhiannon Tudor Edwards,  Co-Director of the (CHEME) at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ, and Professor Deborah Fitzsimmons, Director of Swansea Centre for Health Economics at Swansea University.
Research Interests
Vladyslav's Ph.D. project focuses on co-production in Hywel Dda University Health Board. He looks at public engagement as a tool of co-production and explores the preferences of the public and the economic rationale for public involvement in the joint planning, organization, and delivery of health and social care.Â

Personal
Vladyslav was born on April 11th, 1999, in Kyiv, Ukraine, in a family of two certified neurosurgeons. In 2014-2015 he was part of the Future Leaders Exchange Program, sponsored by the US State Department and set up in the former Soviet republics. He lived in Ashland, Wisconsin, with a host family and attended a local high school. In 2016 Vladyslav enrolled in Bogomolets National Medical University, the biggest Ukrainian medical school located in Kyiv. Vladyslav was at home with his family in Boryspil, near Kyiv, when the russian invasion of Ukraine started on February 24th, 2022. The family was displaced to Chernivtsi, in the Western part of Ukraine, where Vladyslav came across the Ph.D. studentship offer from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ. He applied for it in April, and moved to the UK on June 20th, 2022, having graduated from medical school a week earlier. Vladyslav currently resides in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ and spends most of his time working on his Ph.D. project. He is also a freelance interpreter at Wales Interpretation and Translation Services, where he helps Ukrainian refugees in the UK by interpreting for them in the healthcare setting. Â
