Overview
I am the Programme Lead for Medical Sciences at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ, overseeing several modules aligned with my specialist interests in Clinical Physiology, Clinical Biochemistry, and Research Skills. I also lead project modules at the undergraduate level and support teaching on the Medicine programme. My teaching spans the Medical Sciences and Biomedical Science undergraduate programmes.
As the Senior Tutor and Disability Tutor for North Wales Medical School, I am responsible for advocating for students and ensuring their well-being across all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including both taught and research pathways. I work closely with the Head of School, the Director of Teaching and Learning, and the Director of Student Engagement to develop and implement strategies that enhance student well-being and academic success.
I hold a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Chester (2012) and subsequently completed a PhD in Clinical Sciences, alongside a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, reflecting my commitment to excellence in teaching and supporting student learning.

Teaching and Supervision
I am the Programme Lead for the BMedSci Medical Sciences programme at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ. I was honoured to receive a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ Teaching Fellowship in June 2022 in recognition of my commitment to excellence in education.
I am the module leader for MSE-2028 Vocational and Research Skills, MSE-2016 Basic Clinical Biochemistry, MSE-3010 Applied Physiology, MSE-3016 Pathophysiology, MSE-3018 Clinical Biochemistry, and MSE-3013 Research Project. I also contribute as a lecturer for MSE-1020 Biomedical Practicals.
Research Interests
Current research interests lie in the surgical response at a cellular level of patients undergoing surgical treatments for nephrolithiasis. My PhD work focuses on the routine haematological, biochemical, inflammatory and endothelial response to surgery and the role of phagocytic leukocytes in patients undergoing flexible ureterenoscopy for the treatment of kidney stones.
