香港六合彩挂牌资料 professor co-presents new podcast offering a 鈥榣ighthearted鈥 guide to Welsh literary history
Professor Jerry Hunter, author and member of the department of Welsh and Celtic Studies is co-presenting a new podcast with the well-known political commentator and fellow academic Professor Richard Wyn Jones.
The Welsh-language podcast 鈥榊r Hen Iaith鈥 (鈥楾he Old Language鈥) will be available from Thursday, 9 March 2023 and new episodes will follow on a weekly basis.
Professor Hunter explained, 鈥This podcast started off as a bit on an in-joke in our friendship on Richard鈥檚 patchy knowledge of Welsh literature, but we decided that if he felt a bit insecure about it, perhaps a lot of other people may benefit from hearing about Welsh literature through a fairly lighthearted, easily-digestible format like this.听I hasten to add that he has offered me a similar lesson in political history!鈥
The first chapter of the podcast entitled 鈥榊n y dechreuad yr oedd鈥 Gododdin (efallai)' (in the beginning there was鈥he Gododdin (maybe)) does what it says on the can: starts at the very beginning, and knowing what the earliest literary text in Welsh was is, as the podcast reveals, slightly more complicated than you鈥檇 think鈥
