Buying Annual Leave
The University is committed to supporting employees to achieve a healthy balance between their work and personal lives, this is in the best interests of the University and the well-being of individual employees. This policy outlines the option and process for buying additional leave and builds on the existing leave provisions available to employees.
This is a salary sacrifice arrangement, making the buying of additional leave an even more affordable option for staff members. Individuals can apply directly from their I Trent Self Service portal when the scheme is open. See below for guidance on how to do this on I Trent. The scheme is available to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ×ÊÁÏ staff members only.
The Scheme is usually opened once a year on
• 1st June to 31st July (payment over 12 months commencing August)
Please note that I Trent will provide you with the gross cost of any annual leave hours requested for purchase. The actual cost will be less than this , due to the savings you’ll make on Tax and National Insurance.
