Each year, the James Pantyfedwen Foundation distributes grants to postgraduate students studying for a Masters or PhD award.
The closing date for applications is the end of June.
Grants will be offered towards the payment of tuition fees only.
Applicants must have a permanent address in Wales at sometime during the three years immediately preceding the date of application (note: a term-time address as a college or university student in Wales does NOT fall within this category). All applicants must also EITHER have been born in Wales OR have one parent who had been born in Wales, OR have been for an aggregate period of not less than seven years a regular pupil or student at any educational institution(s) in Wales.
Applications can only be considered for postgraduate study and some priority is currently given to those students undertaking postgraduate research work.
In all cases the grants will be for the payment of tuition fees only, up to a maximum of £7,000.
The Foundation does not, in any circumstances, supplement awards provided by Local Education Authorities and Research Councils.
The closing date for applications for courses which start in September/October in any year (or with a later starting date in the same academic year) is June 30 preceding the start date. Application forms are available from April 1 in any year.
